I found some a couple months back. I don't know if I got both mints or if I announced it.

Slowing down!
2 box total today:
40%: 2- 67's 1- 68D
1- 2007D- NIFC.
I'm getting one more box tomorrow- if it also turns out to be a dud, I'll probably give it a few weeks maybe before I pick up any new boxes.
* This is the first time I got a box that in every roll at least 4 or 5 coins were magic markered by different collectors etc- multiple marks, dates, initials etc.* A dump box for sure!

Everytime I say that I'm getting sick of doing this because of bad boxes I end up getting a good box a couple of weeks later. The way I figure it is that as long as I get one in a box, it is worth it. It's pretty easy for me to dump at a number of different banks around me, so I will keep it up as long as I keep finding silver!

I picked up 6 boxes this morning, but I didn't get to look at them yet. I'll post them later.

1 Box results today :
1 "SKUNKSVILLE DELIGHT!" (LOL),
Although , I did find another large one penny from Great Britain. Does this count as not being shut-out?
This one was dated 1914 and was in the middle of the roll, but that was it, no Silver, no NIFC'S, Zippo!
I know I said I'd stop for a week etc , but I'll probably get the urge and order more when I go to my bank this coming Tuesday, just can't resist opening up them wrappers!

Ok here it is, I have occasionally asked my bank for any loose "different" coins, halves, whatever. They never had much, and I never really thought of going for a box of kennedys, but today I thought I would ask this other bank to see if they had any Kennedys for a whole ten dollars. They were very nice and checked for me right away. I went home and this is what I got :
1/ 64-D 90% ! 1/ 64-P & 5/ (count them 5!) 40%'s !( all before 1971 of course but I didnt write them down)
Not really bad for 1 roll I thought, so, I put together another $10 out of the rest and some more "go back" coins I had and returned to that nice little bank. I said to the teller I would appreciate if she could check and see if they had any more Kennedy rolls and she said how many would you like? Well. I added $20 to the mix and got 3 whole rolls. this is my final tally ( Includes the previous 5-40%);
64-0 1-65-P 2-66-P 8-67-P 4-68-D 6-69-D
I was real happy and thinking that I did about average for 30 bucks.....until I read these posts!! omg! I guess I hit a veritable jackpot! Somebody must have dumped their collection and I know it will run dry, but until it does the location of this little bank will remain a mystery! Sorry!! I do plan to go back and get what I can and I will update. Well, this is just my "trophy" story (albeit not that grand)and I'm really thankful for it, just as all of you share your great stories and keep us all inspired to keep searching.! I certainly will! PS Can somebody tell me what NIFCs are? Thanks Tammy

Welcome to the Forum! Nice haul on the silver! Pickings have been slim around my neck of the woods lately! NIFC means "Not Issued For Circulation". In Kennedy halves that would be 1970D, 1987P&D, years 2002 through 2009 and all Proof (S mint) issues! These are all lower mintage coins.

Had a pretty good week for boxes. Searched eight boxes and scored 110 in silvers including 25 90% coins. Must have hit the right spot on the pallet as it is the 2nd week in a row with some decent finds. Just goes to show you never know - it has been pretty slow with one or two every other box. I had to do a few road trips just to meet my months goal for August. My goals are for one roll of 90% and five rolls of 40% per month.

Just when we are all starting to complain that boxes are getting slim, Don, Silver Eagle, Maine Jim all hit some nice boxes. Maine Jim - that's a great haul from 8 boxes - 110!! I'm very envious of your goals. Do you keep everything you find and hoard it, or are you taking it to a coin shop and selling it every once in a while? That goes for everyone else also - who hoards and who sells? I'm hoarding right now but considering selling my silver finds to purchase a nice Trade dollar when I have enough.

I'm hoarding and watching the daily prices of Silver Bullion to calculate what each roll( 90% and 40%) is presently worth daily. Silver has been steadily climbing in the past week- its up from $14.00 and change to over $16.22 today- NY Spot Silver per ounce.! Since I'm already retired, this is my part-timne job so to speak.(LOL) *Great site for lots of Kennedy half info is https://www.kennedyhalfdollar.comincluding current prices for rolls of 40% and 90% Halfs.*

I've been hoarding lately. I might move some if it gets over $20 or the SHTF. I've been selling other things I stumble on while searching for silver - 2009 cents, mint rapped halves. Nice to have a little nest egg that will likely hold its value.
