Looks like we've got some good hauls going again! I had my best Fed box ever yesterday. Yellow Looms Wrappers (thanks to AG for clearing that one up!).

No problem. I hate Brinks, dont ever find much in those boxes. Loomis seems to be better. Got 5 boxes coming in today, will post my results some time this weekend. Happy Hunting!

A couple days ago, the guy ahead of me at my usual pick-up bank said "I'm bringing more stuff later." Didn't pay much attention until the teller said that she had some "good stuff". Turns out this guy was the one who had brought in the 30 40% halves and dozen Ikes (including a 40% '76S unc)last week, and had just deposited six Blue Seal $1. He never did come "later", but I'm hoping sometime this week! I can only imagine what it could be, since he now has cashed in old currency, silver halves, and oddly enough, a silver Ike.

I also called a bank in the next county, on a tip from my local branch, for a roll of "silver dollars". Not knowing whether or not they were real silver (I had never even seen a roll of dollars) I took the half-hour trip to the bank, which was inside a supermarket. Just Ikes, though. The next day, a more local bank had two rolls of Ikes. Funny that the rolls are suddenly coming out of hiding! She even said that she might be able to order them from the Fed if I was an account holder, but I think she was just trying to get me to sign up, and then tell me oops, we can only get small dollars.

AG - what is your procedure for dumping 5 boxes? I'm only doing 1 box per week right now because I have to dump them at TD bank and I have to have someone change the bag on the machine 5 times. I'm not sure they would ever want me back if they had to change it 25 times in one go.

I have a bank in my area that has multiple branches with coin machines. I opened an account expressly for this purpose. Within a driving area during my lunch break I have about 6-8 of them. I open one box of halfs and mule it to the coin machine the next day and get my money back. I do other denominations so I will mix in those. Did a dump today and filled up the halfs and nickels. Was able to make some friendly chat with the teller who emptied the machine and was able to pick out the rejects in a interior reject bin. Netted me a nice pre-60's nickel and about $2.

The other day I picked up 6 roll of halves, from a bank that is in an area where there are a lot of nursing homes (Not triying to offend anybody) since that was all they had. When I got home each roll had at least 1 40% but when I got down to the 2nd to the last roll Jackpot!! the roll had $7 dollars face value of 40%ers!

Found a bank today that apparently keeps a box of halves in their vault for customers and gladly sold it to me (not a customer). The box was a skunker but that wont stop me from going back. It was one of the squarish boxes instead of the long flat boxes (and it had white wrappers with gold colored print).

Two of the five boxes last night searched and found 2 40%'s. Dumping today and getting some nickels for the weekend. Hope the other three have the silver.

4 box total- ( my bank messed up and ordered one less than requested by mistake.

Anyway- 4 boxes:

1- 64

40%:
1-65
4-67's
1-68
1-69

*1- 1987P- NIFC (second one found so far)
*1- 1981S Proof

* point of info- every box from the 3 different banks I ordered from all had a inspection date stamp of Sept10,2009 on them- hope that's the last of them because these boxes were not that good!

Hopefully next week it will be different marked boxes with a
better result.

Just a quick question that I'm sure has come up before sorry! What years did they produce the NIFC's? I can't seem to find a clear answer because the answer seems to be opinionated for some reason...

I think that NIFC issues include the years 1970, 1987 and 2002+

Obviously, proof coins would also be NIFC and were minted for all years (I think).

Unless I find NIFC coins that are in great shape I don't keep them. The exceptions are 1970, 2008 and 2009 because of their low mintage. Even though they are a clad sandwich they might be keys one day in this series.

I keep all NFIC that I find, and have about 6 rolls of them. Worst case, I figure I could always just spend them, but I do expect them to be worth at least a bit more then 50c due to the low mintages.
