A counterstamp is when somebody or a business stamps a design or initials onto a coin (in this case it is Lincoln on a Kennedy half). I find this one interesting because when I was much younger you could buy lincoln cents counterstamped with Kennedy from a gum machine. They were glued to a strip of paper with "coincidences" in their lives. |

So stopped at a small branch, like real small. Asked if they had half $$'s and she pulled the bag off the counter. She asked how many I wanted and then dumped them infront of me on the counter. She said she pulled all the silver ones ('64s) out but there were "several of the plated ones left". The "plated" ones were 1 '66, 4 '67's, 4 '68's, 2 '69's and 2 wonderfully toned halves. Took me all of 10 minutes to sort thru roughly $300 worth and she even helped me. :)

I got 2 boxes yesterday, one was a skunk.
The other had-
1-1951
1-1952S
1-1964
1-1967
1-1968D
I pick up 4 boxes from a new bank today and 8 more on Friday.
Is anybody selling there silver at these good prices?
I've sold almost all of my 40%ers and most of my 64's
and any older ones that are badly worn or damaged.

I scored my first Walker from a teller tray. 1 1942-D, 2 1964, and 7 40%s. The teller even said "there are some silver ones in here" when she gave them to me. She wasn't sure I'd want the 1964's since they were "gross looking" according to her, which we all know means toned! Tellers often think that we only want brand new shiny coins!

I dont know how many times I have gotten the "Are you sure you want these nasty ones?" question and low and behold they end up being silver. Silver is silver, nasty or not.

I just sold around $140.00 face ($100.00 at 40% and $40.00 at 90%) last week on E-bay for a very very nice profit! (4 digits!)
Silver is zooming right now- its close to $19.00 per ozt on the NY Spot !
I'll be selling more as it accumulates again at these prices!

hit up bank of america today in a different town. they had 620. 500 of which was a searched box : (
The other 120 had contained 2 rolls of 1/2 silver pieces coming out to be one roll of silver 40%. Not bad!

Hit one bank, had $5 worth, nothing. Credit Union, nothing. They called another branch and they had $365 worth. Only to find out when I got there that this has been looked thru already. Getting 2 boxes from the Fed thru Wells Fargo tomorrow. Hopefuly a better day...

I stopped at three banks today. I picked up 10 hand rolled at one bank...nothing but a 1970S!! I couldnt believe it. Next bank had a few rolls and yielded 3 40%s. At that bank the teller pulled a silver out of his tray. Last bank had fed rolls and I didnt really wanted to buy them so I only bought five rolls. Went to the car and opened the first roll. There were a few 40% and a '44 Walker! Went back in and bought the rest of box. It was only a half box but I wish the other half was there. I have never had really any luck on fed rolls and prior to this had found a lone 40%
