Quote: I have bad luck with coin roll hunting. I've never gotten any silver and have searched two boxes. 2 boxes is nothing. 10 boxes today, 54 keepers, including 10 90%. Bouyed by boxes of 24, 14 and 13.

My first box of halves had 21 40%ers and a Statue of Liberty half. Other than my monster box I have never found that rush since. Chasing the dragon the sober and sane way 1 day and 1 box at a time

how long ago did you have that monster box? Mine was 22 40% and 2 Ben Franklins about 6 months ago. The box looked old and beat up, must have been sitting in the vault a while.

Last July.
I picked up 6 boxes from my bank on Thursday day. I had to go to the monthly coin club meeting and went into work early on Friday morning and opened up this monster.
I have to go to my bank tomorrow to pick up 6 boxes and tomorrow is the 3rd Thursday coin club night so maybe another monster box in my future since the last 6 months have been REALLY REALLY rough.

My local branch will only order one box a month, so last month I went to another branch at a neighboring town who it looks like they will order as many as I want. I will test it out next week. Where do you dump your unwanted coins at?

Not doing any boxes this week. Unemployment will end for me in two weeks and still no job. I have had interviews, but the market is really tough here in Western North Carolina.
The fact that gold and silver are being slaughtered doesn't help either. My sterling holdings becoming almost worthless when compared to just a few months ago and what little gold I have isn't doing that much better.
Also, the last 8-10 boxes I have gotten over the last month or so seem to be heavily marked with no silver present. I may try another two boxes next week.
Glad to see you all are doing well though. It is good to know things are going well for others.

Good luck Ken, and keep your head up. What goes up must come down... I'm sure things will turn around.

All from one box.
A little over 6 rolls of Franklins, 4 1/2 rolls of Walkers, 2 1964, and 2 1/4 rolls of 40%ers.

CRAP! My local bank got a new cashier supervisor and she will only order me 1 box of halves per month and only one box of nickels per week!

Most valuable is 81 half struck on Susan b Anthony planchet. Sold for 1000$ - to my dad who always wanted one. Otherwise would have kept it.
Paid 50 cents. That makes up for all the skunks and time spent dumping.

Man, I never heard of searching boxes before. I just go by the local banks and ask if they have any half dollar rolls. No luck for the past month, but stopped by a bank today and the teller said a woman had dropped off 6 rolls. Found 16 40%. I just wish the LCS had offered more than $2.25 apiece for them. Figured I'd hold them for now.
Best result I had was last year, when I bought 5 rolls and they were all 40%. That came in real handy to pay off some bills.

I don't see a DDO on your coin.
