TPG Dilemma-Which To Join - Coin Community Forum

murty Pillar of the Community United States 1353 Posts	Posted 07/18/2009 7:32 pm I need some help in trying to decide which to join and submit some coins to;PCGS or NGC. The coins in question are 2 1990 1/4 eagle gold,2 1990 1/2 eagle gold, a couple of DMPL silver dollars,and a few other U.S. coins. From all I read here it seems like PCGS is most preferred. If you just want to have it slabbed to protect it and validate it as authentic for future investment/sale then go with NGC as I am sure it will be a little cheaper. Report this Post to the Staff
wd1040 Pillar of the Community United States 3098 Posts	Posted 07/18/2009 7:41 pm Sorry, but I never understood why people slab gold coins because usually (due to gold's malleability) have a high grade. Plus, when I buy bullion coins, I don't care about the date or the condition. As for the silver dollars, I say go for PCGS Report this Post to the Staff
