I have a 1969 S Jefferson Proof. However, I am unable to find the metal composition. By the "Red Book," the prewar composition ended in 1967. And, I believe, silver use stopped in 1964. So, does a 1969 S Jefferson have the same metal composition as today's Jeffersons? The "Red Book" also doesn't breakdown "modern" (post 1967) era Jeffersons' metal composition.

Thank you.

Stephen.

The composition of the nickels have been pretty much the same since the shield nickel...75% copper 25% nickel (with the exception of the 1942-1945 war nickels!
