My Son is getting into collecting 3 cent pieces. He found this coin and is wondering if it is an error as it appears to have a 45 degree rotation on Reverse? If it is an error any estimate on its value?

Thank You!

It is an error, but not overly rare. There are some specialty collectors who would be willing to pay a premium, but again, it probably would not be significant. A cool piece, none-the-less.

I know I'll find one in this roll!

Is it a particular VAM. It appears the Obverse is offset and probably a very weak strike.

Thanks For the fast responses!

VAM is a term that only applies to Morgan and Peace dollars. You are asking if it is a recognized variety. Unfortunately there is no standard reference for varieties of the nickel three cent pieces. (The best book had a very small printing and has been out of print for years. And even so it only scratched the surface.) As far as I know there are no variety listings for rotated dies. That doesn't mean they don't exist or are rare, just that they aren't considered to be a variety. (You don't create a new variety just because a die rotates in the holder.)
