I could never really figure out what happened here. It's a 1964 nickel. This side looks like it melted.

I've never seen a nickel in acid, but it doesn't look like what a cent looks like. A cent retains much of it's features and literally just becomes thinner. This actually looks like the metal moved, which makes me think along the lines of rockdude that this was the result of heat/blowing.

could have been a prop in the movie "house of wax". iether the original or the remake with paris hilton.
