My local dealer wants $40 for a roll of 2010 Kennedy's. Am I missing something here? Is that the going rate?

No. That is absurd.

Check Ebay - you'll find going rates.

I think someone on here had some rolls recently too - maybe in the for sale area.

You can't get 2010 Kennedys through your bank. They are only available from the mint in 2 roll sets for $32.95 plus ship or bags of 200 coins for 130.95 bag plus ship. Makes dealer cost about $13.60 / roll, so, yes, $40 is quite high.

Kennedy Half Dollars have not been issued for circulation since 2001 and have only been available in rolls and bags sold by the Mint for a substantial premium. A bank will not have them unless someone wastes their money and turns in NIFC halves(rarely happens), never mind the fact that it is difficult to even find a bank anymore that carries half dollars- most of them make you order a whole $500 box. $40 for a P&D set would not be so bad but it is quite high for a single roll.

What you should do is purchase a bunch of "2010 P & D Two Roll Sets" for $32.95 on sale right now from the Mint and sell them to this DEALER for a nice profit ! ....

How do you get the gray "quote" box?

Anyway,

"What you should do is purchase a bunch of "2010 P & D Two Roll Sets" for $32.95 on sale right now from the Mint and sell them to this DEALER for a nice profit ! "

I just might do that! I just ordered a bag from the mint.

Hit the blue "reply to topic"........and NOT the "submit reply" in black at the bottom of the page.

Then you will see the little icons......the one for quotes is the little white "paper" with a red arrow. Click that and then click in the reply area, then click between the two quotes and paste your copy there.

As far as the bags of Kennedys......keep in mind that they will likely be "P" mint or "D" mint, but not "both".

Yeah, I was surprised, too. I thought it would be like everything else. So, I figured @ .68 cents each, what the hey.
