my coin dealer just got in two of the 1909 San Francisco mint VDB pennies both graded PCGS one F-12 the other F-15. What do you think he is asking for them?

I'm going to guess $980 on the F-12 and $1080 on the F-15

What's he's asking and what I'd pay are two things, lol. My guesses for his asking price:

F-12 $1250
F-15 $1300

I hate guessing game quizzes ...... much prefer a straight-up honest topic that gives the facts and lets us comment on them for purposes of education and support to the CCF community.

What is wrong with just saying the prices without all the mystery??

OK .... since you asked .... I guess 10 cents each. Does that help anybody out there?????

My two cents worth.

I agree with nickelsearcher, I dont mind a contest now and then or a "guess the grade" type post but I hate to wait to find out stuff like this.

Had 6 or 7 responses within the first hour'ish (including mine). I've been watching this thread for 4 hours now, and the op has logged off. I guess we won't get an answer until tomorrow. It was fun the first 60 minutes, I'm now with nickelsearcher and jokingjoker.

sorry for the delay but I was called away and haven't even been on the computer until now.

F. 12 equals $1100
F-15 equals 1150

However, I looked at them for over an hour and I cannot tell the difference by EYE between the two.

Being a regular I can get them 750 and 825 respectfully.

Again, I apologize for the delay! This is the first thing like this I have ever done and I was told myself I would answer the question within three answers.

I would typically agree, however I am not sure where we are headed as a country! In the last eight months I have seen and touched coins that I have only ever read or seen in a book. This tells me that serious collectors are in trouble! for instance, he has graded Morgans such as 1893 Carson City, 1895 Philadelphia, 1894 Philadelphia, and hundreds of other key dates that you rarely see anywhere that are coming up almost daily.

That would make a great question or poll. How low do you think the coin markets will go?

I'd be getting the $$$ together ASAP at those prices. Those prices are WAY below CDN ask....plus, they are PCGS slabbed. Both would be buys of a lifetime.
