hi I dont know much about US coin errors but could you guys help me on this one, is this a known error?

Filled Mint Marks are pretty common and carry little if no value.Sorry bout that.Oh and welcome to the community,Keep on lookn,Thats half the fun

the cause is not a filled area on the die. But a post on the mint mark that broke off that would have formed the cent of the mint mark. Thought you might enjoy what it really is.

I never knew that was the actual cause.that makes sense.But it's still called a filled MM (isn't it) and we now know the cause

If the die were filled, then devices would be missing. With the post missing, the mint mark isn't fully struck, just a chip begins to form in that area.
