This looks like the medium trees/long nosed beaver variety, and while they are not scarce by any means it is a shame to see it holed.
Anyone looking to buy this coin will pass this one by because of the hole and look for a better copy which will be easy to obtain rendering this token worthless.

Thanks. I always feel the same when I see a holed coin. :(

That's a heartbreaker. I have a US colonial cent with TWO holes drilled into it. I just can't imagine why somebody would do that. Maybe to make jewelry or a buttom, but, gee, what a shame.

I'm keeping mine, just out of respect for its age.
It wasn't that long ago when I thought that 'mint error' meant that something was wrong with my candy.

Unfortunately, just copper bullion value.

I have a few small U.S. holed silver coins of the 19th century, but I bought them at silver value only, and certainly would not pay more, unless very rare. PM coins of India, Turkey and Egypt have slightly higher value than just bullion, because they were used for adornment.

They are just too disappointing to look at otherwise, I would rather heavily worn coins instead, at least you feel that they have served their purpose as money.
