The original medalets may yet someday be listed as Civil War tokens. I can personally see no reason why these are excluded while the Fulds' included many other political medalets among their patriotic listings. The originals are about the size of a quarter, brass and were silver washed. The silvering was thin and easily worn away on the few specimens that I've seen, revealing the brass. Rosa's replicas were made from a silvery colored white metal. The "Death to Traitors" slogan was a common cry in 1861. It can be found on many, contemporary, patriotic postal envelopes.
