It's very nice what you're doing, giving away seven dollars and change, but so you know - my post was a joke. I, for one, never had any intention of trying to relieve you of the quarter. I just thought it was quite interesting that you were willing to throw $7 (worth of silver in the form of a 1946 Quarter Dollar) out into the street for someone to find.
Best regards to you,
Steve

My post was a joke too because I think begging is sort of silly. But he created this contest by himself, which I thought was very generous. He wanted the coin to go to a collector, someone who would appreciate it.

I realized he was serious about it, so I just voiced my opinion about his original intent. I knew that that was his coin and he could do anything he wanted with it, whatever the motive.

I didn't take it as anyone begging. I don't feel that I was pressured to do it. I was glad to do it. I don't collect coins Per Se but if I come across a coin of interest in change I put it aside in a box. So far I have come across a buffalo nickel several mercury dimes a 1940ish dime and some early sixties dimes. I would rather give the coins to people who are interested in them rather then being thrown aside or have someone sell it for melt. It was something that I wanted to do so congrats on winning the coin and it is on it's way.

Yes I did. I like seeing things like that. Like someone else posted maybe someone starting out may win and help them to get started, add to there collection or get them more interested in collecting.
