Hi, I've finally got my medieval penny (ish) coins identified more or less and have added them to a page on my website. I like to showcase them this was for two reasons. Going through the process helps me focus on getting the details right and learning about them and their context - and I can check what I have no matter where I am or what device I'm using. I used 1500 as the cut off for this page but I'm aware some classify the end of the medieval period as slightly earlier. https://www.diadumenian.com/Congres...0Europe.htmlThanks to everyone who has helped me nail down the identification for some of these. As always this is a work in progress and I'm sure there are typo's in there too but it should be mostly right.

I love the site. I did, however, notice a distinct lack of Burgundy represented there...

Hey that is pretty cool--love the info and the hotlinks to numista!
I'm interested to hear your thinking for separating Cyprus from Antioch and Frankish Greece as it seems like many people take everything from the Crusader States and just stick them together.

I think that may best be put down to "work in progress" . It mostly just grew as I obtained new coins.- but grouping that way certainly does make sense.

Ah ok organic growth then rather than a specific re-categorization. That makes sense. Back several years ago, I put together a "11 Weeks of Coins of the Crusader States": https://goccf.com/t/285873Maybe it is getting time for a redux?

Quote: Maybe it is getting time for a redux? That would be interesting. I've only got two coins, but spent some time learning parts of this area over the last year, while more-or-less building the current Numista sections on Rhodes and Lesbos/Mytilene (as well as beefing up Caffa). @spence, I hadn't realized you owned a copy of Malloy, or I might have asked for an inter-library loan Interestingly, my beat up Achaea coin was my first medieval, fished out of what was probably a 25-cent foreign coin bin nearly 60 years ago at the Gimbels Stamp & Coin counter in Paramus, New Jersey while my parents were doing Christmas shopping. I had no idea what it was until about 7 or 8 years ago (I'd thought tt was French because I hadn't any skill yet for reading medieval legends).
