Is this considered proof like? I can clearly read 58 on the ticket in person. I tried to capture that in a photo.

Doesn't look proof like to me. But I'm not an expert on that subject. It's one heck of a nicely toned Morgan dollar.

Proof like is because of the reflectivity in the fields - your pictures don't show anything definitive so hard to tell.

Reverse is PL, obverse is not. Both sides need to show prooflike quality for the coin to be designated as prooflike.

Almost as if dipped and then re-toned.

Does anyone know what causes that ring of toning on the obverse? I see it frequently and assume that it's artificial.

Normally I would say album toning, but this looks different.

What really matters is whether or not this example is market acceptable.

...Possibly, the coin was encapsulated in a material (plastic with PVC) that oxidized the silver in that fashion ...here's a .925 silver commerative from 1973 ... I bought it in it's original presentation box, felted cardboard & a plastic capsule ( since removed ) ... notice the similar effect ... (sorry for the poor pic, but you can see the similarity)
