I scraped with toothpick and nothing came out. The cooper color is the and same texture as the cooper from the rim, no difference. Thanks for all the input.
Well you can always give it a soak in 100% Acetone - see what happens. If it is indeed a thin layer of clad that peeled off exposing the copper core that would be cool!
Thanks for the advice of dipping in 100% acetone. After two hours soaking nothing came out, no glue or any other kind of material. Attached are the pictures after the acetone bath.
