Not often found in uncirculated condition, this is a more typical appearance for an uncleaned pillar dollar. This 8 reales from Mexico City was minted toward the end of the long reign of the Spanish monarch, Phillip V (1700-1724, 1724-1746).

I was admiring the 1995 Kennedy circulation cameo pics you posted at the beginning of this thread. I want to start a modern commemorative pocket piece and am wondering proof vs unc. Is your half dollar a silver proof?
Love that cameo look on the Kennedy, so starting with a proof might be the way to go. Did you apply any toning techniques or is that an all natural effect just from pocket wear? Thanks!
