Report from the Dedham Mass monthly coin show today. My first time here. Small show, at least 10 stamp dealers, a couple banknote dealers, and 8 coin dealers. I asked 3 coin dealers how much they pay for 90%...
One dealer said he isn't buying now (even though he had a sign on the table offering to buy)
Another dealer was looking only for half dollars and dollars. He offered 12X on those
Another dealer said he just sold 2300 face to a wholesaler at 15X to raise money for some show he was going to. He offered 15X for my silver (I declined).
This last dealer also said that he thinks spot will drop to $18 this summer before jumping in the autumn (election year jitters?).
None of the dealers were selling bulk silver so I can't say what sale prices were.

Thanks jeffbuckes for the report. If silver dropped to $18 oz I'd be buying a bunch assuming premiums would not spike up. 12x offer for halves and dollars is way too low. Today on ebay auction I got 40 1964 quarters at $18.85 face, includes shipping, full dates, light wear. Monument Metals has circulated quarters for $18.16 (check or wire).

Quote: Got these four morgans at my LCS at $25 each. Very nice! Quote: I decided to start a lowball Morgan album, but they need more wear first! Fun idea! Good luck and share your progress with us.

Coin show last weekend had 18x but only if you bought full rolls. Otherwise it was 18.5x to 20x.

What is a "full roll"?
Are USA coins rolled in standard quantities?
What are they?

The number of coins in a full roll of each denomination: Large sized dollars (Ike's, Morgan, Peace, etc.), 20 coins Small dollars (SBA, Sacagawea, presidential, etc.), 25 coins Half dollars (kennedy, barber, Franklin, etc.), 20 coins. Quarter dollars, 40 coins Dimes, 50 coins Nickels, 40 coins Cents, 50 coins. I hope this makes cents.

Coin show today - one dealer had ample amounts of dimes and quarters at 17.5x and a small amount of halves at 18x. Rest of the dealers were 18.5x, 19x, and one even at 20x for dimes/quarters/64 Kennedies and 21x for Franklins and 22x for Walkers.

17.5x is a good price in my opinion for average circulation wear.

Quote: 17.5x is a good price in my opinion for average circulation wear. I agree! Myself and 2 other buyers were buying quite a bit from that dealer. I cleaned out most of the half dollars at 18x, one guy took at bunch of the quarters at 17.5x, and another buyer was in the process of loading up on dimes at 17.5x. Was very pleased with that price.

It's interesting that silver multipliers are going down in USA, whereas in Britain silver multipliers are going up.
I wondering why.
Perhaps so much British silver coinage has been melted that coin dealers are finding it difficult to buy silver coins.
I wonder what the situation is in other countries.
