Interesting. You have been collecting since 1972. Ambrose had not left the house since 1972. For what it is worth, I am probably more like Monk than I want to admit.

@dear, thx for adding pics of the storefront while it is open. Did you take those or find them on the interwebs?

Just discovered this thread tonight, reading it when I should be in bed sleeping before work.
That is how good it is!
Thank you Ultra Rant!

I did a search using the name on the awning and found their web site. these 2 pictures were on the main page of their site. When I first saw your picture, I thought it was a 'hole-in-the-wall' place so I had to see what it looked like inside. sure looks much better with the rusty graffiti covered roll door open

Would be interesting to locate coin shops around the world where Google Street View is available--image quality will vary, but could be fun.

These are two coin shops I visited in Milan, Italy. They sporadically have some american coins; I think you would need some basic + Italian to navigate these two... Or you can contact them on WhatsApp, which you will certainly need and use if in Italy.... The first is an old coin, philatelic, etc shop ...the second shop is an excellent small metals buyer in the center of Milan

I will be in Rome next week and was wondering if there any coin shops worth visiting. Note that my Italian is pretty much non-existent.

@numised...I just saw your message now! If anyone is in Rome... Please send me a message and I'll gladly direct you on the shops that I frequent. Here are some photos of the gold offerings at a local shop...
