there are and will be a lot of €1 and €2 coins in this thread as they are bi-metal so here is an ugly scan of the 4 commemorative €2 irish coins

yes I dont like scans, its night time here at the moment so the camera phone under artifical light doesn't work too well, my one anyway!
The lustre of these coins under normal viewing is really good if I get a chance over the weekend I would love to edit the post with updated images.

I'm a fan of world bimetallic coins and have a small collection of these as a side line. This first one I like because it's not immediately obvious it's a bimetallic and never seen any others with a similar metal combination. This one from Algeria is Aluminium-magnesium center in Stainless Steel ring Algeria 10 Dinars AH1434/2013 KM124

Cool coin, it took me a few seconds to realize that it was, in fact, bimetallic.

yes me too, thats different. Aluminium-magnesium center in Stainless Steel, would the centre wear more than the outer?

Quote: would the centre wear more than the outer? It should, since aluminium is generally softer than steel, which is quite hard compared to most coin metals. Indeed a very neat coin, I really want one of these!
