Two new additions from Europe: a Czechoslovakia coin from 1991 commemorating Mozart, and a coin from Hungary (2003) commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Budapest Philharmonic Society with the portraits of Ferenc Erkel, Zoltan Kodaly, Erno Dohnanyi, and Bela Bartok.
Just slabbed and graded by PCGS. Two of my music-related medals. Composers Ernest Bloch and William C. Handy.
Ernest Bloch (1880 - 1959) was a Swiss-born American composer of Jewish heritage. His music uses a variety of contemporary harmonic devices such as the use of the Dorian mode (with extensive alterations) in his Concerto Grosso, tone clusters in his Piano Sonata, and serial harmony in his Piano Quintet No. 1.

William Christopher Handy (1873 - 1958) was an American composer and musician who referred to himself as the Father of the Blues. Although he did not create the blues genre, he was one of the first to publish music in the blues form.
