I ponied up for 3 notes to complete my Jamaican pre-decimal QEII set (the lowest 3 denominations). It is unlikely I'll reach for the 5 pounder (unless I win some money ) So here they are: The 5 Shillings (with Latin Motto & first signature): The 10 Shillings (with English Motto & last signature): The 1 Pound (with English Motto & last signature): I wasn't too worried about the particular rarity or any other particulars for these 3: just so long as they were in decent condition.

Quote: I finally completed my Solomon Islands set with this $20.00 I was trying to hold out for P-8 (1981) but settled on P-12 (1984): I somehow missed this update. Well done! Quote: I ponied up for 3 notes to complete my Jamaican pre-decimal QEII set (the lowest 3 denominations)... Very nice!

Quote: Very nice! Quote: Some very nice older QEII notes, congrats! Thanks guys! Yes it was one of those moments to get the whole set from 2 sales (but combined shipping)! Just a sad, side note: all the PMG UNC gems displayed here (excluding my PMG results) were purchased from World Banknote Auctions ( WBA). They were all well priced & better than had I bought them separately elsewhere (as I've been looking for these for a long time). Unfortunately, the excellent WBA app was just purchased by Stacks & Bowers Galleries (one of the big auction houses) so no more excellent service, 15% buyer's premiums, potential great deals & less extra fees (& stuff) that typically goes against us small time collectors. Oh well, I'm happy for the owner who has a new exciting position with SBG.

I don't usually buy the same note twice, but this common Five Pound from Great Britain was so low in terms of bids I threw in my own "low baller" & to my surprise: won it on WBA (World Banknote Auctions). P-382a was issued in 1990 & lasted for one year due to the light green/blue 5 marker on the top corner (which was barely visible for most) & caused some confusion. So the printers modified it & darkened the 5 marker with the next Kentfield (2nd signature) version: This example happens to be the first A01 prefix. I paid twice as much for my first ungraded (A30 common) prefix some time ago (posted on page 9 of this thread). While my A30 appears to be a gem, this one only squeaks in as an UNC 64EPQ but I'm very happy with it since I don't feel the need to submit A30 & it cost me "a pittance" as they would say in the Jolly ol country : My A30 example: http://goccf.com/t/412847&whichpage=9#3652732

Nice note, walk2dwater! When those came out I looked for an A01 note and never found one! I've just added what must be one of the last one pound notes to bear QE2's portrait - a kind friend brought it back from a trip to Jersey!
