Catch-up for 1328 C.E.
AH 728 Billon Tanka
Dehli Sultanate

The date is in words, and deciphering with the help of some wise eyes at World of Coins, has enabled me to slowly recognise some of the artistic representations of the Arabic script. I still have a long way to go, but progress is being made. Sadly, my flourishing with the paintbrush is not so "artistic"!

Got distracted for a few weeks and forgot to keep up with this thread.

Excellent coins! And that brushwork looks pretty good, though I'd have liked to see some unpainted pictures for comparison.

Remaining missing dates:

1464, 1462, 1457, 1454, 1446, 1414, 1409, 1408, 1407,
1384, 1382, 1381, 1367, (1361?,) 1356, 1350, 1349, 1347, 1346, (1343?,) 1341, 1339, 1337, 1336, 1330, 1328, 1309, (1307?,) 1306, (1301?,) 1300,
1298, 1297, 1296, 1295, 1294, 1293, 1292, 1290, 1289, 1288, 1287, 1286, 1285, 1284, 1283, 1282, 1281, 1280, 1279, 1278, 1277, 1276, 1275, 1274, 1273, 1272, 1271, 1270, 1269, 1268, 1267, 1266, 1265, 1264, 1263, 1262, 1261, 1260, 1259, 1258, 1257, 1256, 1255, 1254, (1253?,) 1252, 1251, 1250, 1249, 1248, 1247, 1246, 1245, 1244, 1243, 1242, 1241, 1240, 1239, 1238, 1237, 1236, 1235, 1234, 1233, 1232, 1231, 1230, 1229, 1228, 1227, 1226, 1225, (1224?), 1223, 1222, 1221, 1220, 1219, 1218, 1217, 1216, 1215, 1214, 1213, 1212, 1211, 1210, 1209, 1208, 1207, 1206, 1205, 1204, 1203, 1202, 1201, 1200,
1199, 1198, 1197, 1196, 1195, 1194, 1193, and my estimates say we should be on 1192 today.

Apparently we're now entering the 12th century! I really should compile and write down the listing for the 13th...
And the 14th century is getting picked off fast. I hope we figure out the messy 1341 situation soon; the 8th edition isn't that close but it's slowly approaching.

@ttkoo - I'm unsure of the date on the 621/1224 coin; the area where the date should be is at ~5h on the right-side image and doesn't look very legible. It appears that all the dated examples of this type on Zeno are 621, so it might have been a one-year type, but I'd need to be more confident either of the date, or of it actually being a single-year type, to confirm it.

Also, which place is the date on the 737/1337 coin? I can't quite figure it out.

There you go. I took fresh pictures as the sellers shots were a bit blurred.

Album puts the known date range as 613 - 622, as does Zeno. I have submitted it to Zeno, and hopefully they can confirm the 621H. It seems strange that all of the confirmed dates are 621, given that the availability of the coin (according to Album) is rated as common (A #841.1)
It is what it is, sorry I can't give more than that.

As best as I can read the coin, it is muhammad bin tughluq sabea wa sabeumiaya wa thuluthwan (or alternatively it could also read ...sabea wa thuluthwan wa sabeumiaya) both of which are a modern translation of 737. This is rather convenient, but the same coin in Zeno, also dated to 737 apparently reads "sanat seb' (not thelath!) wa thelath(in) wa seb'(mi'at) which translates to "a year and thirty and a half ago" which to me is a nonsense.
Please understand that reading arabic is not my strong suit, and at best I just dabble in it. I have learnt this at my cost many times, when I have been frequently proven wrong.

1199, 1198, 1197, 1196, 1195, 1194, 1193, 1192, 1191, 1190, 1189, 1188, 1187, 1186, 1185, and I believe we're currently on 1184.

Only eight gaps remaining (maybe less) between the current state of the 7th edition and the 13th century. If we do get there, though, that's going to just be a huge wall of missing years.

Good to have this update @j1m. I haven't been following the thread as closely as I should have. Here is a Georgian coin dated Koronikon 430, which I believe corresponds to 1210 AD:

Added: here is a link to a zeno example (but without the countermark) that contains the translations:

Extremely interesting coin @Spence!

Looks like the date is almost always off flan on these small examples, but it's supposed to be there and this is a single-year type, so it counts for this thread.

I forgot to keep up with this thread for a while, but I'm back and will fill in a few of those missing dates.

For 1272, here's China, Southern Song Dynasty, Da Zong (1265-1274), title Xian Chun, year 8, 1 cash, H#17.848.
