1974 D Dime Misstrike? Blank Reverse.

I have attached pix for the experts. The coin in question is a 1974 D dime, the front appears fairly normal, back only shows a very weak partial strike near the top left area (which may not be visible in the picture). Either a button, or that was the "holding/pressing" spot to turn this on a lathe or something of that nature. Report this Post to the Staff

A key indicator of the reverse being removed is the fact that no reverse rim is present. There is an upturned rim present on the planchet before a coin is struck. If it was a striking issue, some rim should be present. Report this Post to the Staff

I believe that this coin may have been somehow manufactured and most of your comments seem to support that.
