No banks in my area are ordering them, anyone know why? I thought most banks ordered the new coins every year.

Please give me your inputs thank you! :)

I go to Wells Fargo and they havent been able to order "new" pennies for 2 years now...they just take what they get from Brinks. The only coins they actually order are the presidential dollar coins.

Most banks cannot specifically request a certain date of Cents, new ones or otherwise......they just order "Cents". And when they come in, they're usually just "mixed". There are of course, always the fortunate few who get an entire box of all new ones, and sprint to eBay....but that's rare, not the norm.
But, these mixed rolls can be searched and you can still find the new coins.....good luck acquiring both mints though ! That's the hard part !

The general rule is......west of the Mississippi River is handled by the Denver Mint, and east of the river is handled by the Philly Mint.
So, it depends on where you live, as to the likelihood of what you'll find in the brand new coins from searching rolls.
I live in Kansas ......so 99% of the ones I find are Denver Mints. A new coin that is a Philly Mint is an EXTREME rarity for me !
By the time I start seeing Philly minted coins ......they're in pretty rough shape sadly ! ....

Ok, well I'm in Oregon so I see some P's but rarely and I see TONS of D's did they stop using S mints? I am used to collecting wheats and I know they had some years with S mints.

Yep. 1974 was the last year for business strike cents out of San Francisco. 1975 and on are proof-only issues.

That's correct. No mintmark on a cent means Philly.

Hmm ok I see, you seem to know a lot about coins, mind if I ask you another question somewhat off the topic of 2010 pennies?

Awesome :) So I was thinking about buying the new 2010 uncirculated set and I'm not sure if its a good idea, if it will be worth anything in about 70 years or so or just be one of those things that they tried and wasn't a big hit, ya know?
And I have a few coins with the one side of the rims a LOT bigger than the other sides but it didn't affect the printing on the coin at all is this something or nothing?

thanks again :)
