Just a quick heads up if you have been considering a purchase of one (or more) of the gold coins from the 5-Star Generals program...

The recent drop in gold's price has noticeably lowered the prices of the gold half-eagles and three-piece proof set - all are lower than the prices listed on Day 1 of sales. The proof is now $461.20, the Unc is $456.20 and the three-piece proof set is now $522.20.

Also, remember, the Mint's intro pricing for the 5SG coins (i.e., $5.00 discount) ends at 5:00pm on April 19th (this coming Friday).

This could be the time to buy if you were on the fence! (http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...ntifier=4000)

(Unless gold takes another big drop!)

Nice!

I am going to sleep on this as it is closer to what I need it to be. Such a dilemma, I know. It is psychological.

I did not.

A somewhat expected (but underestimated) home expense preempted my purchase.

I will wait for the uncirculated set with the less expensive bronze medal in place of the gold.
