What's coming tomorrow? Or do the mint not release things on a Friday during their end of week binge?

I'm so glad they went back to the standing Britannia as I'm fond of the design and previous years with the design have quite a premium in resale.

Just had a thought... I actually never seen these for sale other than resale- do you know when they go on sale from the Royal Mint and whats the procedure for ordering? Is it like ASEs where you go to an authorized dealer? Also, I would want BU/bullion grade coins, not proof or anything like that.

These are offered directly by the Royal Mint or dealers (offered by dealers on pre-release basis). Have not seen these yet on the Royal Mint web site so I can't compare prices yet. Aren't these available from the bullion dealers in the US? A quick check, seems that the 2010 one is cheaper from a bullion dealer in the US than a dealer in the UK by around $10. Ken

Unfortunately, the 2010 design does not appeal to me. =)

wpd7: most US PM dealers have them in stock occasionally. I tend to get mine from APMEX, but my new source is Provident Metals. You can Google both their websites. Just note that premium is nearly as high as the Chinese silver Panda, spot + $8-$10 per coin. The previous years coins trade for a much greater premium.
Glad to see the standing Britannia return, hope to see Britannia of the Waves, Chariot Britannia, and Una and the Lion make a return in subsequent years. Wasn't too keen on this year's coin. Probably was a great design on paper, just didn't translate well once it was miniaturized into a 40mm coin. As for 2010, hope it was a one-year experiment...

UK mint is selling it for 57 pound right now. apmex has 2011 britannia for 43 dollars. how does that happen?

I got my 2012 coin from a dealer rather than the Royal Mint. Paid £30.60 for it. One from the mint is in "gift packaging" while the one I got was the raw coin in plastic since the dealer buys in bulk. I can't tell the difference in the one from the mint or one from the dealer once it is in an airtite. Ken p.s. You are also not going to be paying UK VAT at 20% like I did.

This might help a bit. Top Row - 2007, 2008, and 2009 Bottom Row - 2010, 2011, and 2012 2010 and 2012 were not purchased directly from the Royal Mint. Ken

I've got a few of the older designs on one quarter gold. With silver at these high prices I'm not sure if I'll pick up a 2012 right now. It's still a nice coin.
