These AREN"T mine. Ran accross these pics and just wanted to share.
Very unique. Kinda puts my fraternal pennies to shame.
1st is an 1884 Morgan. What I find incredable is that the portrait isn't a photo, but engraved.

Thanks for the photos. I've never seen anything quite like that. It is pretty fancy work and I find it baffling because it would be easier to make their own medallions.
It wasn't that long ago when I thought that 'mint error' meant that something was wrong with my candy.

that first one was probably done by a jeweler or gun smith because that is some nice intricate work
