Hey everyone just looking through some of my older stuff I found these.
Did 1966 even have double bar that anyone knows of?
All the black dots look like the black ink on the otherside has come through. If I hold it up to the light you cant see them. Is this even an error? I dont know anything about notes.

I can't comment about the note, but yes, 1966 is known for faint double bars, and they're fairly common too.
A friend is a present you give to yourself.

The ink would more than likely be ink transfer,as they print the nots they stack them in piles,the notes are'nt always dry & some of the ink gets on the other note biside it,some ink errors can be very spectular.

are those notes with wet ink printing on them worth much compared to a normal note?

It depends on what & how much is transfered,if there is writing or lettering transfered they are worth more.
I sold a $10 note that had the 10 & other bits of lettering backwards on the opposite side of the note & I got $97 for it on eBay,but it was fairly spectacular ink transfer,i have 2 more just as spectacular.
If I can find them I will put up a couple of pics in the next couple of days.

I was just looking through my photobucket & found this pic,i should add I don't think ink transfer is very common in paper note,you don't see it often. You can see the 10 in reverse easily on this note,in the top left corner.  Edited by appleangel07

I found the other ink error I have so here they are.  This one is particularlly good because of the backward print in the bottom right corner as well as the top left corner.  & a run of 3 1988,only a slight ink transfer but still an error.  |

Hey 4ddrft, don't know enough about the notes yet sorry. But yes the 66 has a double bar and I don't know if they're common or I'm lucky as 3 out of my 4 are double bar..not in the best of nick but I still have them

I don't know if they're common Luck of the draw. My 1966 50c pieces are half and half, but looking through a dealer's stock I saw more than 20 that were without the bars.

The $10 Note is likely a minor ink fault, minor offset or a minor wet ink transfer.
The photo's that AppleAngel07 have posted are all wet ink transfers which happen when one side of the note touches another note with wet ink during printing.
The final photo of AppleAngel07 is a slight wet ink transfer, but also a minor ink fault.
My assumption of the ink fault would most definitely be a minor wet ink transfer. Being a paper note it would have come from the opposite side (under the TIMES BAKERY), best way to check is to hold it up to the light & you will see the design through the note. Is it worth anything? To a collector, it may be worth 10% above it's catalogue value. (All depending on how small or large the area covers)

I am quite sure there are 'faint' double bars which are common and also quite strong double bars which are quite scarce.
