This is on a 1972 P LMC. I had it set aside awhile back and decided to take some pics. My first thought was a Doubled Die...then I kinda leaned towards Die Deterioration. After looking at it from several light angles I though maybe I see triples...

Are my eyes tired or do I have something here...

I think you are right with the Die Deterioration theory..

I see what you see.But with the devices that close to the rim it just screams deterioration...IMO

Also this coin looks like one of the master die doubled examples found from all three mints.

Some have asked about my images I use and I'm glad to say, I've completed an educational DVD of these. Ask if you are interested.

That looks very much like my coin. The LIBERTY looks exactly the same as well. Is it considered a Doulbed Die? I guess I should read up on Hub Doubling and Master Die Doubling and Doubled Dies and the differences.

If I am understanding this correctly the Master Die was doubled during the Hubbing. So it doesn't carry much of a premium. I still will keep it. I like it.
