I found an odd looking rim on a collection of coins my father left me. I've already separated the silvers and such, but the rim of this one stuck out for me in the sorting process.
It's probably nothing, but I just wanted to post it here for your more informed opinions.
40% silver half dollars do typically show an exposed core on the edge that appears gray. I strongly suggest that you weigh the coin to test the possibility that this coin was struck on a silver-clad planchet left over from the 1960's. Stranger things have happened.
