Hey everyone,

I feel very lucky to know someone that works in a bank and very lucky that she and everyone there has been looking for old and new collectible coins & bills. A Few weeks ago she told me that someone had brought in some rolls of nickels with Indian heads on them asked if I wanted 1 and of coarse I blurted out I'll take all of them :crazy2: . Well They showed up last week, all 6 rolls of them! :Wow: :hd3:

So needless to say I've been scouring over them and been sorting them by year & Mint mark seeing what I've got. Some nice extra's in the rolls were a 1953 Jefferson & 1945 S War Nickel, and lastley a silver 1940 South African 3 pence.

Here's the numbers of the Buffalo nickels
No Dates - 19
1938 Denver x2
1937 Plain x 34, Devner x 13, SanFrancisco x 2
1936 Plain x 33, Denver x 17, SanFrancisco x 17
1935 Plain x 15, Denver x 6, SanFrancisco x 12
1934 Denver x8
1931 SanFrancisco x 4
1930 Plain x 8, SanFrancisco x 6
1929 Plain x 9, SanFrancisco x 5
1928 Plain x 5, Denver x 4, SanFrancisco x 10
1927 Plain x 17, Denver x 2, SanFrancisco x 4
1926 Plain x 10, SanFrancisco x 1
1925 Plain x 4, Denver x 1, SanFrancisco x 4
1924 Plain x 1, SanFrancisco x 3
1923 Plain x 4, SanFrancisco x 3
1921 Plain x 2
1920 Plain x 12, Denver x 2, SanFrancisco x 4
1919 Plain x 4, Denver x 1
1918 Plain x 1, SanFrancisco x1
1917 Plain x 4
1916 Plain x 3
1914 Plain x 1, SanFrancisco x 1

Also a couple other items were a 1974 uncirculated set & a 1992 uncirculated set of canadain provinces quarters, :: I'm super pumped on all this

Cost me $42 bucks for the lot shipping included, Thank you MOM. Now I just have also looked over the nickels for errors and varieties and have found a few here's the pic's
1937 3/3

1936 S/S or S/D can't tell any help is grateful

1935 Dot

1918 D Liberty Doubling

I also did find a 1917 Plain 2 Feather, sorry no pic's

Update, sorry I lookdd @ the 26 & I guess I was to tired when I posted this and it was a D not the lower-mintage S. CaptainFwiffo here are the photo's of the 1924 S you asked to see. The first one is also a whiskers buffalo

WOW! That's quite a score, a lot of good dates in there. Hundreds of dollars worth, in fact. I'd love to see the condition of some of the tougher dates, like the '24-S or '26-S. Also, there might be key dates in the "no date" pile, you can search the forum for tips on identifying them or restoring the dates.

For the varieties:

I think the 1937 is just a die chip or something. There isn't a known overdate for that date that I'm aware of.

The dot is just a die chip or something.

I'm pretty sure the 1936 is an S/S RPM (FS-501).

The 1918 doubled liberty is just machine doubling.

Nice haul. I would imagine you probably have one or so Type 1 Buffs in there. You can tell by looking at the reverse if there is a raised mound under the buffalo. I'd have fun looking and sorting through all that!

Awesome finds! And thanks for the great pictures. That is great you have a whole bank of people looking out for you.

And very strange that someone would turn in the two sets into the bank. Glad to hear you were able to save them.
