canuck1us Pillar of the Community United States 1002 Posts	Posted 04/11/2012 12:36 am There are hard to tell apart especially once circulated. The German planchet has a dull matte finish whereas the Canadian planchet has a shiny oily like finish. Report this Post to the Staff

SPP-Ottawa Moderator Canada 10471 Posts	Posted 04/11/2012 08:43 am ICCS no longer comments on whether a 1996 Twoonie is a German Planchet or a Canadian Planchet. I spoke with Brian late last year and said it is too difficult to do it consistently. A Canadian Planchet with strong die polishing marks can easily fool a lot of people.
