Has anyone seen anything about a 2012 SE Silver Dollar from the Mint? Just saw this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Limite...em43b0b28790 Seems funny that it says not yet released then on the next line says On hand ready to ship. I can't find anything on Mint site.

It has been discussed a bit though it got grouped in with the thread for the quarter. Probably should have been it's own topic; and now it is . http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...&whichpage=3It will be on sale at the mint.ca this week.

It's available for purchase on mint.ca now - appears to be a general public release.

Interesting. Limit of 1 per household and no MC pre-order. Looks like the mint is reacting to previous complaints.
10000 is a fairly robust mintage for a rather boring design. ~0.75 toz. ASW, for $70 (but no taxes).

pretty cool coin, its part of the commerative silver dollar collection so this one will be added to the other ones as well. Yes it funny that there was no pre order for MC (i am one), they'll get a complaint for sure...LOL...10000 is not robust compared to other commemerative silver dollar, usually its around 40k to 60k, so I am happy with 10k...a sure sign that the mint is low in silver LOL...

@CC-Ottawa: Thanks for the heads up!
I've been waiting for this one since the "sneak preview" a number of weeks ago.
Hopefully, one will be on its way to me before too long!
Collecting history, one commemorative coin (or medal) at a time!

anybody else think this one is over-hyped? i don't see this coin justifying the 1-per-household limit and selling out anytime soon.

I think what's happening is the mint is trying to stop speculators from buying up all the coins. I think they may be getting a lot of angry emails and Ph calls. I getting the felling 2012 coins are not going to be a good long term investment Lol With everything selling out at Max mintage it will be very easy to buy these coins at a great discount in a few years. And that will make the mint look very bad, it will be hard to sell anything new if everybody thinks they will get it half price later. Then it will be like 07 again, lots of new coins.... no sales Lol That will drive sales up again :-)

I pass it too. Just wonder why someone selling this coin at a high premium on eBay or Secondary market? While people still can place order on Mint or buy directly from post office. And still have someone willing to pay buy it at a high premium. ?

^^ people always try to do that over eBay, I'm sure they can trick someone into buying a coin at a high premium. Meanwhile it's available all over the place.
