Good sellers -vs- Bad sellers

I'm happy if the item gets shipped within a few days. I fully understand that most sellers (hopefully) have lives outside of eBay, but I start getting a little impatient if it takes a week or longer.

Just to clarify, by shipping I mean the time it takes for the seller to drop off the package at the Post Office, not actual transit time.




Shipping is one of those things like death and taxes.

For less expensive coins (not requiring Signature Confirmation), $3.00 or so is pretty fair to properly package and ship a single coin. For more expensive coins, I expect the price to go up significantly with the cost of insurance. $40 or $50 or even more might be fair if the coin in question is a $10K coin.




Clear photos of course...but...I've also scored some smoking deals due to a sellers lack of photography skills.

Well I hope I'm one of the 'good sellers' you refer to. I've worked in retail for 30 years and I figure that selling something online really doesn't vary that much to having a bricks and mortar store. The main variation I see with an auction site is that the market generally determines what something is worth by the time the auction ends.

Here's what I consider important when selling online ...
1. Clear accurate photos (same as product display in store)
2. Clear accurate description (as a customer would want to know in a store)
3. Good service including fast shipping (as a customer would want when placing a phone order in store)
4. Communication before, during and after sale is made.
5. Warranty/guarantee and refund terms.

Shipping fee all depends on how its shipped. I prefer faster priority mail and the 5 dollar shipping over waiting 3 weeks to save a couple bucks.

As far as time, I always pay immediately so I do hope they would ship it out the next day, but again as long as they meet their listed time frame I cant complain

on just about all of the aforementioned comments. I pay as soon as the auction is over. I would expect for the seller to ship the next day at the latest. However there are those larger sellers who I am certain are bombarded with sales, but they should have staff to accommodate the sales. When I sell, I print off the labels (delivery confirmation is free) as soon as I get the message that the payment is made. No, I am not hovering over the keyboard waiting for payment, but when I do get around to it, which is pretty frequent, I do my best to send out the article as soon as possible.

I take several continuous images of the items that I sell, and select the best ones for the auction. Sometimes I take a chance on "less than perfect" images when buying. But I try to put forth the effort to accurately depict the product.

I charge the actual shipping, usually First Class, unless it's heavy, then it goes Priority.

Put in the mail on the next business day is reasonable.

The only good sales photo is a clear one and right side up, not upside down
