Just grabbed my "order" for the weekend:

- Box of pennies.
- $20 in nickels.
- $60 in dimes.
- $10 in quarters (swapping unused laundry money).
- $7 in loose Eisenhowers and Susans (I hoard them for no good reason).

And of course, once again I'm walking to the car with my box and filled Crown Royal bags of rolls, and think "I forgot to get empty rolls".

LOL, hopefully my girlfriend will get to stop at the bank on her break for me. If not, luck would have it I still have plenty of empty penny rolls and half of the nickels came in paper rolls, not plastic. Guess I will start there. LOL

Just visit several branches and get some from each one. I did this several times a few months ago and now I have a drawer full of all sizes for when I need them.

You need to find a dump bank that has a counter. Then you only need to roll the ones you want to keep.

I try to get a handful of them every time I go, but I am horrible at remembering to ask for them. I have a day off this coming weekend sometime, and I plan on doing a run around town for loose halves/dollars along with a dump/buy of what I got today, hoping I remember then.

LOL, I know. I actually don't mind rolling the dump coins. I have myself a tellers tray to do the counting for me, and in the small amounts of coins that I do go through it doesn't slow me down at all, and keeps it easy for me to count what I am dumping back. Plus, it saves me the hassle of having tellers upset at getting handed a loose bag of coins. I don't know about all the banks I hit, but I know some if not most just take my rolls of coins and put them back in their drawers. They don't break the rolls and send them off to be counted. Only half of my banks ask me to swipe my card, and I don't write my account number on the rolls.

Sadly my area doesn't have a counting machine I can use. I think there is one in the downtown branch, but that is a huge hassle to drive to and find parking during banking hours for me. I'd rather save the gas money and the hassle and invest a little more time in rolling them myself. My bank gives the papers to me for free, and I don't mind the extra time spent really.

I agree, I have re-rolled a lot of dimes, usually $1K-$2k at a sitting and it takes me two hours total. I will not re-roll machine dimes, just cwr as you can scan, and dump back into roll in about 10 seconds or less. BTW, I don't ever remember that I've counted a roll in $100,000 dimes searched in the last few years. Never ever a problem dumping bags or returing rolls. Just crazy or just lucky.

Hands down worst task is being forced to roll pennies before returning them. I could only do maybe $40 to $50 per hour. Find a bank with a coin counter my friend.
