jerseyben Pillar of the Community United States 1211 Posts	Posted 03/07/2013 7:29 pm I posted a coin on Sunday and noted that I had obtained it along with 2 others in a trade. Well here is the 2nd coin: KGIII counterfeit brockage and possible wrong planchet? The other side is a mirror image. Not sure what is going on with the planchet size. Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 03/09/2013 08:36 am As you mentioned it is a brockage of a contemporary counterfeit. These were struck on under weight planchets and frequently undersized ones as well. If the planchet size is normal then I would suspect the brockage maker has struck a few pieces and is starting to spread. If the raised design on the other side is also running off the planchet like this one is then its the planchet that is undersized. If the raised image is not falling off the edge then the brockage maker is spreading. By the way that is an unusually nice brockage.
