They are both immaculately preserved, and are one of those purchases where you must bid strong as you never know when another will come along in such condition. 1794 Suffolk (Blything) Halfpenny D&H-19, graded NGC MS66RB 1795 Suffolk (Hoxne) Halfpenny D&H-33d, graded NGC MS65RB (given the reverse chocolate browns with blue toning, I'd call it "BN") Report this Post to the Staff

You'll be suprised how many have stayed red - collectors snatched them up and some were produced only for collectors and have sat in coin cabinets, laquered, since they were struck. I've only seen them in auction house listings though. My only concern about putting htem in slabs is that you lose the edge inscription. They need a way around that! Report this Post to the Staff

I'm not sure if the conder token I bought has edge lettering - I'm going for one today which does have edge lettering and I dont know how ill store it. Someone locally has a few nice conder tokens - I just wonder how they've lasted so long untarnished. I cant find a penny from before 1996 thats even a bit red. Report this Post to the Staff
