Here's a token on my keyring that always brings a smile to my face for some reason. It was in my dad's effects when he passed in 1997. Too bad he never got to redeem it. It measures 1 3/4 " across. I am pretty sure it is authentic. Larry

I've got a couple from Europe - very interesting when you look into them. American ones, or those purporting to be American, are widely copied for sale as tourist souvenirs: have a look on the-bay. Search on two words"B****** token" - you'll have to fill in the gaps yourself, as CCF has strict rules about what ought not be included in posts. see Item number: 250916763301 on the-bay

Well I sure hope this token did not break any CCF posting rules. This may be a copy but that's okay - it's still pretty cool to have. It wouldn't be worth much after I drilled the hole in it anyways.

Sorry to bust your bubble, there never was a silver dollar hotel in Denver, CO. This is a fantasy piece made probably in the 1960's or 1970's. There was a Silver Dollar Saloon in Leadville, CO.
Drop this into Google search "Silver Dollar Hotel, Denver, CO" you'll see more than a few links to this very piece and others with similar and even more vulgar sayings. I grew up in Denver, CO and used to see these all the time at coin shows, I might even have had a couple in the days. (medals that is) ;-)

But no bubble busted as it wasn't the centerpiece of my collection. It's just a risque trinket on my key ring.

I can't imagine what you could do with only one screw. Most of my wood projects take a dozen or more. They had a hardware store at the hotel? Odd. :)

It may have been the original Home Depot?

According to the author Jan Mackell, in "Brothels, Bordellos[...]in Colorado 1860-1930", there was indeed a Silver Dollar Hotel in Denver owned by Ruth Jacobs. That doesn't address if there was ever distributed any authentic tokens like this one. My friend just dug one of these up in a park in Trenton, Michigan. Sorry, no picture of it.
