The Royal Australian Mint purchases its planchets from Asia, and this twenty-cent coin has accidentally been minted on either a Hong Kong or Thailand bi-metallic planchet. The planchet was somehow sent to Australia instead of to its correct Asian destination, and it made it out of the mint without being spotted by quality control. I wouldn't be surprised if this coin fetches around $4,000.00 at the Downies auction.
