This is an interesting one.

My wife saw it on the ground, picked it up, and gave it to me.

It will probably always be a mystery as to where it came from.

The Netherlands. 1 Cent. 1919. AU.

Now, that's an amazing find!

I love that quarter, Archraz! I'm glad it can't talk, though, as it would probably have some nasty things to say about people lol
Rest in Peace

If I can get my daughter to do it for me, I'll have her post a picture.

I just have never mastered the technique.

Found a 1957D wheatie in change the other day.

But today....a 1957 dime baby. Ah yes, the sweet satisfaction of getting silver a face value.

1964 Canadian penny looks like proof coin that found its way into circulation! I would like to post a pic its so new looking. I have very little virtually no experience taking pics of coins but I might give it try soon in order to post a pic of this coin. I really could not believe how great of condition this was/is in!

Oh yeah I found it on our kitchen island with a handful of coins presumably one of my kids or my wife emptied there pockets & left there!

PS. Gary I read this thread for the first time and your initial post. It appears you may have to give this thread up --- Not much action!

We've ALL been there at some point !........you gotta start eventually ! Lord knows I had quite the trial taking pics of coins, but then even more of a trial trying to figure out why I couldn't get em' posted properly here !!.....
But, once you figure everything out.......MAN !! ....it's a relief and very satisfying !

Speaking of pics, can you use a simple digital camera to take clear pics of coins, or do you need fancy stuff? Also, is it possible to use an avatar pic other than the ones provided?
Thanks

Texas collector, any digital camera will do for average pics. I use an Olympus SP500 UZ. Go to "Modern US Coin Forum" and click on "Toned 1977 Kennedy half". This was taken with the above camera. As far as avatars other than the ones provided, go to "Coin Community Family Stuff" then, "Welcome introduce yourself here" go 2 topics down to "Avatars" and contact Susanlynn9. She will help you with a custom avatar of your choosing. That is what I did with my Vermont Colonial Coin as my avatar. I own this coin. Took a pic and sent it to Susan. She will convert it for you. Just send it to her. Hope this helps.

I know I know it is a time thing as much as anything. I have perused the photo thread here on this site and have been learning, Super Dave has / (had) a great photo learning series going that I will follow through to its end.

He, like most of us probably can't find the time to do all the things we would like too.
