I'm going to chime in here and say that he meant it as 'government silver' because it was bent so much, the coin machine rejected it. Anyways, that's how I interpreted it.

I was under the impression that "government silver" was "silver" that the government "invented" when it replaced the real silver with Cu-Ni.  |

I got a 1917 wheat in G in change today. This was certainly an unusual find.

Found as a rejected coin at my credit union's coin counter machine. Not sure, but I think it is from Thailand. Shows a leader on the obverse, and temples on the reverse. About the size of a nickel.  |

Found a Red Seal 1953A $2 bill in the cash register the other day....pretty good shape too considering the fact its 50+ years old, just the "standard wallet fold" and a small yellowish stain above Jefferson's head

Pulled a 2005 Cayman Islands 25 cent and a 1996 Jamaica $5 coin from a Coin Star reject tray today(I guess someone just got back from a Caribbean cruise  ) |

Thursday I received a steel 1943D Lincoln Cent from change at a 7-Eleven in Canada. I have heard that circulating steel cents are outnumbered by circulating Indian heads. Amazing that it made its way up here! |

I got a Panamanian Centesimo coin in change this week. It's been a while since I found anything foreign other than a Lincoln.

I went to pick up a pizza getting ready for football this morning and received a 1953D silver Roosevelt dime in change. 2nd silver dime in change in 15 days! |

A clerk friend of mine took in $6 worth of silver coins today, including a 1964 JFK in BU, a 1965 JFK, and all the rest quarters.
She told the customer that his coins were silver, but he insisted on using them for payment anyway.

This is the first time I find some coins in a CoinStar reject tray. Saw something white in color... it was a silver dime, 1963P. Also the machine rejected a dime and 3 zinc and 1 copper cents. Not sure why, but I got 0.14 along with the silver dime :)

You have to love the CoinStar machine. Last week I decided to take a look in the reject tray. I was surprised to see 8 coins in there. I emptied the tray and looked at my find. There were three, 1 cent euro coins from Spain. 1 pre euro coin from Germany. 1 coin from Panama. 10 Pesos from Mexico, and one Ten Pence from Britain.
