I got an AU Martin Van Buren $1 coin in change at the Post Office today. First one I have gotten from there.

I found a WLH in circulation yesterday.
BEATEN, and without date. It looked as if was set on fire and rolled down a gravel hill, then hastily snuffed out with a tandem team armed with only a lawn mower and a chainsaw.....
But I did let me geek hang out "cool a Walker!" and everyone around me thought I was a nut. I quietly pocketed it with delight.

I never spend change. Got home this evening and found that I have acquired a 1964 Roosevelt in very fine condition. It does have a bit of darkening around the edge. Not sure what that is. Also, a 1940 wheat. Coincidentally my birth year.

I am out in Indy this week, so strange to see so many D mints!! I never see them in Maryland! So I am keeping all I get as they may have a home when I get home and check my collection! Nothing exciting just fun to see coins I have to search the world for in my pocket. And if I don't find, I end up buying!

My wife dumped her change purse in my lap last night. Time to clean out her copper and nickels I thought. But last night I was surprised!  Amongst the ten copper cents was a 1944 LWC.  Amongst the almost fifty Zincolns was a 2009 LP1! My first LP1 from circulation! Amongst the other thirty or so quarters and dimes was one nickel. Just one. Usually she has ten or more.  |

A BU 1943-S Nickel will still buy a cup of coffee, if you sell it first.
And gas is still 25¢ a gallon, '25¢ face value of junk silver', that is!

Gee, I get nothing good for a while, then in my change today I got: 1961-P Dime (spotty XF), 1943-S Wartime Nickel (dark VG), 1948-S Nickel (VF), 1946-P Wheat cent (XF), and a BU 2009-D Rail Splitter Cent (traded to a co-worker).  Edited by DNA

A 1963-d Roosevelt in VG today in change. I don't pay any attention to my change until I get home and sort it. Maybe I should pay attention and ask if they have any more when I find this silver. Of course, that means I would have to start wearing my glasses.
