Storing BU Copper coins inside 2x2's ? How safe?

I've got several Bu wth full lustre and Unc with much lustre British large pennies stored inside Lighthouse brand 2x2's. I staple them from top or from the corners and place them inside Lighthouse brand 2x2 holder pages. I was told that is the best option after a airtite coin slab. I was wodnering, is this the good procedure to keeping those coppers safe and keep them from toning? They're very lovely BU's with full lustre and I want to keep them that way. What do you think?

Remove staples, reseal with CLEAR tape on sides that would normally open. If you place a stapled 2x2 to your mouth and blow, you'll notice air goes right through. Not so with taped edges. All mine are like that. Also, much easier if you want to open.

Carl, thank you for your advice.. I have to say that the 2x2's are self-sticking, but I still staple them to prevent from drying and opening. They're self-adhesive.

I cannot say how the adhesive will act on the 2 x 2's, but from my experience with labeling in packaging, most adhesives will migrate to different areas over time, even in normal environmental conditions.

molydeii- I say that they will probably be ok for short periods in the stapled 2X2s, but just be sure to check them frequently and change the holder if there are any signs of moisture leaking into the holder.

Why not just use Airtites for the primo coins? I never trust my nice BU's to anything except an Airtite.

Sort of agree with that. I know from many so called self sealing packages and envelopes not used for a long time that they no longer work. Or don't work well. I had some of those standard paper sized manila envelopes that I thought required wetting to close and found they were SUPPOSED to have been self sticking. Just laying around to long I guess.
I don't use the self sticking flips since I really just don't trust any gluing items without manufacturers information. Difficult to even find out who to contact for such information with some organizations that produce the flips.
I'll stick to the taping since I was able to contact several tape manufacturers for information as to the clear tape. Of course not all ingrediants are available since that is propriatary but you can find out what is NOT part of their products.
One nice thing about the use of tape on a 2x2 is to open you only need a small knife to slit the tape and it is open.
Another nice thing is the cost. A roll of clear tape is a real lot cheaper than individual air tights.
Been doing this for a real long time and so far no adverse effects.

Thank you all for your advices, I will perhaps switch to the coin capsule by the same brand for my prime Bu coppers, I just like to display them inside the self-sticking 2x2's and 2x2 pages. So far had no problem, no toning, etc. but time will see.
