I am sure a similarly themed thread has been done before on this topic but thought I would start a new one.

I decided to start a 20th century key date type set and thought it would be nice to see what other key date/semi key date coins members have. To start here are my first two key date coins.

1912-S Liberty V-Nickel PCGS VF20

1916-D Mercury Dime PCGS G-4

I love that Merc, with a touch of irridescence on her cap! Actually, I haven't sen a thread like this before, but it is a great idea. I will post some of mine later on.

Johnny the toning on the top of the cap is one reason why I purchased this Merc over several other G-4 mercs that were at the show. That was the little extra something this one had over the others.

I have a bunch of semi-keys: 1909S Indian Cent, 1908S 1¢, 1931S 1¢, 1912S 5¢ (the key is 1885), 1855 3CS (I don't count the post-1862 stuff as that's a different ballpark), 1883 and 1887 3CN (keys are 1884 and 1885), and 1872 2¢ and 1864SM 2¢ (some would consider the 1872 the key, and I agree...others would say the Proof only 1873 is key).

Did someone mention 3CN?

There might be some debate whether this is a key date or a semi-key date.

It is not the key date to the Lincoln series, but it is the best that I can show at the moment.

Purchased a year ago, March 2009. As I said then, not the best photo, but I was excited to show it off.

Nice keys all! What grade is your 16-d Moe? The obv looks VG, and the rev looks G-6 to me. I also think the 1931-s is a key date, and the 1909-s indian cent certainly is a key.

I'm afraid if I post my key date it will be spoted as a fake
which is a joke cause about the closest to a key date I own is a 50d nickel. Not to earth shattering

i think this would be considered a semi-key date. it came from a few of my own stored/hoarded doins from when I was a kid growing up in nort western north dakota. I only ran accross it again in the last couple of months. 1914S lincoln whea

This is the only key date I ever owned; sold it a few months ago to another CCF member.
