I am looking at a Half Dime, estimate low MS. Where will the wear show up first on this coin so I can be sure of my grading?

On the obverse the head and horizontal shield stripes.
On the reverse the leaves.

I agree about the reverse. On the obverse, rub will show up first on the head, bosom, and thigh "closest" to the viewer.

Wear on a Seated half dime will show up first on the chest and knees. Pay very close attention to those two areas, that is what separates a low MS from an AU. IMHO

here's a link to a page of Halperin's book on coin grading, showing the design high points of some coins.
