This is a coin I'm considering guess the grade and give me your opinion about it.

I'll go MS64. Might just be the fuzziness of the photos but I can't really see any marks or scratches. Nice Peace Dollar!

It's a MS-63 ANACS, asking price is $35.00. Going to try and get it for $30.00.

She's a beauty, very nice details and color but my old school grading would have called it uncirculated. The 60 to 70 coins I really don't know hoe to differentiate

This is from the Red Book:

MS-63 Choice Uncirculated - Some distracting contact marks or blemishes in prime focal areas. Impaired luster possible.

If you look on the obverse side of the pic I provided, there appears to be a scratch along th jawline, and some kind of od mark under WE and above the 19 right along the neck line. Those maybe be the reason for the MS-63 grade. I'll know more when I see it in person.

Heading out to pick up my new Peace Dollar. Emailed the dealer and he'll take $30.00 for it. He also has a 1963 Franklin Proof for $15.00.

Okay, dealer let the Peace Dollar go for $30 like I already mentioned.

Was harder dealing over the Franklin, he was asking $15, and I offered $10, we settled on $12.50. So I'm happy I got a deal on two good coins, and he's happy too.

The Franklin has some small, dark spots on the reverse over the ED in United, T in States, and middle of the bell, and on the obverse between the chin and 19, other than that it has the proof quality, mirror image and is a great PF-63.

The Peace Dollar, on the obverse side has a finger/thumb print starting to show on the rim and above In God, small blemishes on the face. Reverse has some toning under Peace and along the rim.

I'll try and take some better, more sharper pics of both coins and post them here for all to see.

I've been spending a lot of time this evening closely examing both coins I picked up today and noticed under closer view a strange mark on the obverse of the Peace Dollar.

I outlined it in a red box:

Are the lines of that mark raised? Or is it a scratch? Or a discoloration?

Steve, they're not scratched, and appear to be something that was on the planchet at one time when the coin was struck. Directly under the W there looks like the remnants of a letter or number, either S or 5, its hard to make out.

Going to my coin haunt to search the half off box and taking the Peace Dollar with so he can put it under a stronger magnifier to look at it.

Ok, the mark I outlined on the obverse, is tape residue. Someone, not knowing what they were doing obviously, tape something to the obverse of the coin, possibly a price tag or something.

You can see the finger print very well on the Peace dollar. Is there any way something like that can be removed without causing harm?

Not that I know of, and anything I could try might harm the coin. Since it's slabbed, I'll leave it as is. The thing that bothers me, not enough to resell this coin, is someone put a sticker across Liberty's neck just under the WE, and then it was removed leaving the glue behind on the coin.

But it's still a great looking coin and the $30.00 price was a good deal as I know some Peace $'s of this year in same grade can run $40.00, and I've seen some in small town auctions receive bids as high as $60.00, but the bidders aren't buying the coin for it's grade, just because it's old, and silver.
