Seems pretty reasonable from a dealer. Numismedia shows them at $1 to $1.25 depending on year and condition.

It will definitely depend on what the year and mm combos are. My dealer usually has them for $1 each but I have never looked through them.

Yeah, he's pretty good about about "volume discounts", and from what I could see the majority looked at least VG, we'll see. I didn't think $1.50 sounded too bad, but I don't know the Buffaloes. Like I said, I haven't started to collect them yet, but I want to.
I'm sure once I get into them, I will want to upgrade, but for starters.....
I'll grab a few and post them tonight and see what you think. I'm not very confident in my grading skills, yet.
Plus, at $1.50 how much could I possibly lose? - LOL

Sorry about the delay, worked longer than I thought I would. Had to actually take lunch at 7PM to get there before he closed! Yup, I work nights.
Anyway, picked out these 4 for $5. Big spender! I don't think it was too bad. Some of the mintmarks may be hard to read, so clockwise: 1928P, 1930S, 1935S, 1936D.
Sorry, I broke the mid to late 30's rule, but these were the best of the bunch. Of the remainder, the dates were legible but really worn flat - wasn't sure if they were worth it.
