I picked up this coin and medal set pretty cheap today.
It has a 1993 Bill of Rights BU silver half.

I want to bust it out to put in my half dollar case.

I am curious if anyone thinks this set would sell for, or gain more value then the same coin not in the set. Red book has the coin at $22 and the set at $25. This to me is not enough to worry about.
This set is in ok shape, but not in perfect condition. There are some marks on the plastic covering, but I don't think any on the coin.

Also has anyone broke a coin like this, out of the set, in such a way that it could be put back in?

Hi, I wouldn't have thought the margins would give too much to worry about. I would certainly place it in my cased collection if I were in your shoes. I have take British coins out of their packs in the past. Sometimes they are better displayed and protected by removing them from the mint packaging. CP.

I broke it out, and I think it looks better out of that holder.

FYI - I think there are only two modern commemerative half dollars that are silver. The 1982 George Washington and this one 1993 Bill or rights.
Of course both came in BU and Proof versions.

It does look better out. I thought there were some scratches on it, but they were obviously on the plastic holder. Nice looking coin!
